Renew a subscription

You can set up your Autodesk product subscriptions to renew automatically, either individually or in bulk. If you are in a managed environment, renewals are performed by your contract manager, purchaser, or primary admin.

Here are a few things to know about renewing a subscription:

• Trial subscriptions — Trial software can't be renewed or extended. To continue using the product, you need to buy a subscription. See Convert a trial to a subscription for more information.
• Expired subscriptions — You can’t restart expired subscriptions. To renew access to software and services, get a new subscription online.
• Changing a subscription term length — In some regions, you can change your subscription term (for example, from a monthly to an annual subscription) in Autodesk account.
• Manual renewals — Some subscription renewals can only be managed manually.

Note: All renewal methods may not be available in all markets.

To ensure that your renewal is successful on the renewal date, your recurring payment method must be valid and auto-renew turned on.

1. Sign in to your account.
2. In the subscription list, select a product to open the subscription details and review the payment method on file.
   
3. Click Turn Auto-renew On to ensure automatic renewal processes on the renewal date.
4. Follow the instructions to complete the change.

You can turn auto-renewal on for up to 100 subscriptions at once with the bulk auto-renewal feature. 

1. Sign in to your Autodesk account.
2. Under Billings and Orders > Subscriptions and Contracts, use search or filter to generate a selected list of subscriptions. 
3. From the Actions menu, select Manage Auto-Renew.
4. Choose to turn subscription auto-renew on. 
5. Select the checkbox at the top of the list to turn subscription auto-renew on.
   
6. Select Continue and follow the on-screen instructions.

Some payment methods require you to renew your subscription manually such as Alipay, Konbini, and wire transfer. You may also choose to renew your subscription manually, beginning 90 days before expiration. Your renewal options are visible in your Autodesk account and you are also sent an email.

To renew a single subscription manually in account:

1. Sign in to your account and click Billing and Orders > Subscriptions and Contracts.
2. In the subscription list, select a product and click Renew.
3. If you have the option to renew early online, choose “Renew now in checkout”.
4. Your renewal is added to a cart, where you can review pricing and complete the purchase.
5. Your renewal date remains unchanged.

You can manually renew up to 100 subscriptions at a time, up to 90 days before your renewal date, giving you greater control over the timing of your payment.

To renew multiple subscriptions manually in account:

1. Sign in to your account and go to Billings and Orders > Subscriptions and Contracts.
2. Select the Bulk Actions menu, and then select Renew.
3. Subscriptions eligible for renewal together will be grouped by their CSN, currency, and purchase method.
4. Select the subscriptions to renew and complete the transaction.
5. Your renewal date remains unchanged.

To avoid losing access to your software, renew your subscription before the expiration date.

Customers in some regions can now renew directly with Autodesk through a quote, either from a partner or by creating your own from Autodesk account.

From a partner

• To renew through a quote, you can work with your existing preferred partner or find a new partner.
• Quotes can be sent to anyone in the company and up to five additional contacts.

From Autodesk account

Customers can now create renewal quotes from their Autodesk account.

1. Navigate to Billings and Orders> Subscriptions and Contracts.
2. Select the Bulk Actions menu, and then select Renew.
3. Subscriptions eligible for a renewal quote together will be grouped by their CSN, currency, and purchase method.
4. Choose the group and uncheck any subscriptions that you do not want on the quote. 
5. Select Create a quote as both the radio button and the black button below the other renewal options.
6. Review the term and quantities and add up to four quote recipients.
7. Select Send quote

Purchasers can also create a self-service renewal quote for a single renewal by clicking on a subscription from their Subscriptions and Contracts page.

Self-service quote eligibility

The following conditions are required to request a self-service quote:

• Must be a new subscription, co-term, or renewal
• Renewals can't be combined with new or co-term quotes
• Must be the same partner CSN if an agent of record is involved
• Customer CSN and currency must be the same for all subscriptions

The following conditions are not eligible:

• Currency changes
• Adding seats in your Autodesk account
• Success plans or value-based purchase options
• Opening a new line of credit
• Future start dates
• Updating the address after the quote is sent (create a new quote if an address change is required)
• Quote cancellation (contact your Autodesk Partner for assistance)
