Frequently asked questions

Whether you have questions about the interview process, our business, or our policies, you’ll find the answers below.

Applications and interviews

The interview process helps us get to know you, and helps you learn about our people, culture, and business. We’ll ask about your skills and experience, and you can ask us questions as well. Be prepared to tell us about your achievements and the value you could bring to Autodesk.

In a typical interview process, you will first meet with a recruiter, then the hiring manager. Next, you may also be asked to take a functional assessment. After that, you will meet with an interview team, typically 3-4 people.

Timing may vary based on role and location, so we suggest you speak with the recruiter for details specific to a particular role.

We do not typically provide specific interview feedback, but we make sure to update candidates on their status as soon as possible after the last interview.

First and foremost: Be yourself! Make sure your resume is up to date and aligns with the role you’re applying for. Show how your skills and previous experiences make you a great fit for the position. We also suggest learning about our Culture Code and speaking to the values that mean the most to you

The recruiter and hiring manager will review all applications and reach out to those they believe are best qualified for the role.

Yes! Applications are matched to specific job openings. Please apply to every role you’re interested in so the hiring teams can see your information, and be sure to let your recruiter know you’ve applied for multiple roles so they are aware. You can search by job or keyword and can filter by job category.

Yes, we will keep your information on file for a period of time.* If a new role is posted where we think you might be a good fit, and if you’ve provided consent for us to contact you about future opportunities, we will reach out to see if you’re interested. You can also join our Talent Community to stay up to date on new job opportunities and the latest Autodesk news.

*The period of time for retention of your application depends on several factors, including: (i) the applicable Candidate Privacy Statement; (ii) whether you have consented to receive communications from Autodesk about potential opportunities; and (iii) applicable laws and regulations. Autodesk will retain your application for the shortest time-period applicable based on those factors.

Working at Autodesk

While we still strongly encourage all employees to get vaccinated for their own health, we currently do not require employees to be vaccinated. We will continue to review vaccine and testing requirements in response to the dynamic and evolving circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, as the health and safety of our employees remain our top priority.

Candidates with in-person interviews at an Autodesk office will be considered “visitors” and are required to follow the same visitor guidelines (either be vaccinated or have a negative antigen test on the day of entering the office).

We have more than 12,600 Autodeskers in 47 countries! We have three work-type categories at Autodesk:

  • Office-Based: Employees work primarily from the office with a dedicated desk.
  • Hybrid: Employees have the flexibility to work from home and their assigned Autodesk office.
  • Home-Based: Employees work from their home office and generally do not work within commuting distance of an Autodesk office.

Be sure to check out @AutodeskLife on social media, where we highlight Autodeskers from around the globe.

Roles that are remote will be clearly mentioned as such in the job description. Most of our roles are open to being hybrid. We suggest speaking with your recruiter or hiring manager for more information.

For hybrid roles, we do not have a set number of days you need to be in the office – it will vary by team. We believe in-person experiences are crucial to collaboration, innovation, and our connection to one another, so we make sure leaders and teams have the tools they need to adapt to hybrid work, meet with purpose, and come together in-person for collaboration, team building, and celebrations.

We are proud to offer a competitive benefits package to full-time employees, including time away, health insurance, retirement benefits, and support for everyday living. Benefits vary by location; view U.S. benefits information here.

There are many ways to develop skills and grow your career at Autodesk, from online courses, instructor-led classes, and a learning community, to coaching, mentorship, and even individual development plans.

New Employee Onboarding (NEO) takes place over three days and immerses new hires in all things Autodesk culture, with stories and activities that provide an engaging and meaningful onboarding experience. You’ll also learn where to find news and other information, get technical support, and network with fellow new hires. And be sure to keep an eye on your mailbox for some fun Autodesk swag!

When you’re an Autodesker, you can feel comfortable bringing your whole, authentic self to work. We welcome all kinds of different backgrounds, perspectives, and beliefs because we know diversity fuels new ideas, creativity, and business growth. We want our teams to reflect the world we live in, and we want to create opportunities for as many people as possible to play a part in the future of work.
